One of most commonly utilised services is that of Data Migration. Typically used when a customer has decided to upgrade their storage hardware. A typical Statement Of Work (SOW) would be as follows:
Statement of Work:
Data Migration Services:
- Hold an initial planning meeting with customer
- Supply and Install Data Migration Tools onto customer system(s)
- Build and Run data migration tasks in accordance with an agreed schedule
- Provide ad hoc familiarisation of Data Migration Tools and associated procedures necessary to complete the data migration
- Remove Data Migration Tools following completion of the migration
Deliverables to be produced:
- Detailed migration plan that schedules and specifies the volumes to be migrated and the cutover to production
- Documentation specifying volume locations on the new hardware subsystem being installed
- Perform and Manage data migration using Data Migration Tools
- Provision of onsite implementation support
- Provision of onsite post implementation support (limited to 48 hours)
Roles and Responsibilities of the RSM Partners Team:
- RSM Partners will provide consultant(s) skilled in System z storage technology, data migration and systems programming for the purpose of performing the Services detailed above
- The RSM Partners team will be responsible for completion of the tasks detailed in this Scope of Work and for the provision of the deliverables listed
- RSM Partners will work with the customer’s staff to ensure maximum skills transfer
Customer Responsibilities:
- It is the Customer’s responsibility to ensure that a full system backup is made prior to the commencement by RSM Partners of any Services
- RSM Partners will not accept responsibility for any impact on the customer system or operations or any additional costs arising from the Customer’s failure to make a full system back up
- The Customer will be responsible for installation of any vendor’s software maintenance required to support the new hardware infrastructure
- RSM Partners will not be held responsible for any vendor’s software not performing or functioning as stated by the vendor
